Newly appointed senior captains Mike Ward, Nore Darwish, and Dillon Dorris took the coin toss, and the game kicked off with Timberland quickly jumping on top in the 5th minute off a corner kick. The Wildcats clearing attempt fell short, and the ball was sent back into the box, where it took a strange deflection and evaded the grasp of goalkeeper Ward.

The Wildcats maintained strong possession, and played solid throughout. They just couldn’t get that goal to get back into the game. With 20 mins left, junior Brandon Hill hit a laser from 20 yards that rang the goal post, and Timberland cleared it off their line. Senior Tommy Tarrant and sophomore Bryan Carroll came off the bench to provide a spark and proved that their speed will be dangerous this season. Junior Tre Baker also had a solid game creating out of the midfield.
Sophomore Andrew Heider played his defensive role to perfection, keeping any other Timberland attacks to a minimum. His play will surely be noticed in the area. And Mike Ward was fantastic in goal, distributing and commanding his box.
